Brouard Architects completed a sensitive refurbishment of a 1,000 m² adolescent secure unit at Bethlem Hospital for patients with acute mental illness, comprising 10-bedroom suites alongside teaching and staff facilities. The project placed human experience, safety, and privacy at the heart of architectural design.
The bedroom suites and communal spaces were designed to promote comfort, wellbeing, and learning, while integrated staff and teaching facilities ensured operational efficiency.
Full design and working drawings were delivered to enable seamless implementation.
