This project involved the demolition of a poor quality 1 1/2 storey dwelling. Approval was granted to replace the original house with a dwelling considered of superior architectural quality and in keeping with the surrounding listed buildings of varying architectural styles.

Taking inspiration from these, characteristic elements have been incorporated into the design such as: bay windows, gables, asymmetric elevations, large feature chimneys, brick detailing, tall windows with low cills bulleye windows and wide eaves. We used red brick, hanging tiles and off-white render to match the neighbouring materials palette.

We worked very closely with our developer client on the internal layout to provide a private residence which has both grandeur and intimacy.

Construction drawings were prepared followed by a smooth build, using our usual timber-frame company for the rapid erection of the structure of the building.
